Rustic Side Table
Designed and crafted specifically with booklovers in mind, this lovely piece aims to make room for all the things that make your space cozy. It was thought of as a pause space for all of your recreational activities, room for that crochet bag, some knick knacks, a spot for the books you're keen on reading, journals you are writing. It also has a spot for keeping your current read ready with the last page you put it down on, waiting to be your first one when you pick it up.. The hard top surface is great for writing, snacking and holding the variety of beverages that help you make it through the day. A nook and table crafted intentionally to keep all your passions within arm's length, it is made from recovered and upcycled plywood.
The 1/2 plywood was originally used in the set for Word.Sound.Power. at BAM in Brooklyn, NY. The holes were originally cut into the plywood to shine theatrical lights through the walls of the set, and now they live on to bring joy to your home!
Additionally, The 3/4" plywood was originally used as part of the theatrical production Hot Wing King at Signature Theatre in 2019. The show only ran for a week or so before the pandemic shut it down. It sat in the theatre, unused for a year, and unfortunately it was not able to reopen when the theatre industry started back up again. The crew of Signature called Final Strike Collaborative to collect the materials as they struck the show a year later. We are so glad they did, because this material is perfect for products like this! Through their donation we were able to keep ~50 sheets of plywood from the landfills, and that's a huge win in our books.
